This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary or a Junior Legal Secretary / Team Assistant looking for a step up, specifically within the firm’s busy and dynamic Criminal Law Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to criminal law solicitors
  • Prepare and format legal documentation including case bundles, court forms, and client correspondence
  • Manage confidential correspondence, both written and digital
  • Liaise with clients, courts, police, and legal professionals with discretion and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal files
  • Schedule and manage appointments, hearings, and solicitor diaries
  • Assist in court preparation and attend court when required
  • Handle incoming calls and enquiries efficiently and professionally
  • Update the case management system and maintain data integrity
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and data protection regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Administrator (experience in criminal law preferred)
  • Strong understanding of legal processes and terminology within criminal law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive and professional attitude
  • Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information
